Mis on start up.
This issue just started the other morning, is what happens is I insert the key turn key to first stop and allow fuel pump to stop then to start. The engine will hesitate like not getting fuel or spark, press the accelerator and fires up but then get a check engine light and A/C will not compress. Once started runs pretty well, acceleration as normal zero hesitation on hard acceleration. Has this ever had anything like this I have ordered a new fuel pump and filter because I have no idea when it was done.

What's the CEL code? You can check on your instrument panel if you don't have a reader. That's a good place to start 
New filter/regulator probably isn't a bad idea in general with the age of the car, especially if it has a little mileage on it. Replaced mine at 48k miles for about $50 and 15 minutes on time.
