After fixing the rotating mirror years ago which still works , the display on it has gotten dimmer and dimmer over the last few years. Still visible but just dim. Since I am an EE I thought of putting my knowledge experience to good use. The problem is the VFD has aged and, like any florescent device, time has taken it's toll. Does anybody out there know anything about the VFD on this unit? Not how it works but what pin goes to what segment/grid/filament? I know this is a little technical for this forum but since I have no idea who designed or built this (expletive deleted) I kinda hope some has taken one completely apart and checked things out. BTW, maybe someone out there has a non-functional one I could study. Why destroy a working one. Besides, good working ones (if you can find them) are getting fewer & fewer which means more $.
