My '98 steering column is locked. ( the pull key/wait 10 seconds does not unlock it),
I jerked on the wheel and something "popped"---can turn steering wheel now, but when I begin to drive the car, it cuts out. Suppose it is a security feature.
So, is there a way to override the security cut off? I'd like to drive it home versus trailer, and repair it at home.
Thanks in advance,
George

No easy way to override the 2mph fuel cut off, you would have to install an LMC5 bypass, or have someone with tuning software change the 2mph fuel cut off to 200mph. You might try disconnecting the battery for say 10 minutes and see if that clears it.
The security shut off was programmed in by the Dealer as on the (sic) GM fixes. You can tune it out with one of the several software tuners (EFI Live, HP, etc). The will change the shut off speed to 256 mph. The Compliance Parts product will keep the steering wheel from locking again.
