Default 2001 C5 Vette

Hey all! I just wanna say I have never owned a Vette before until last week. I did notice that the steering is tough at lower speeds and the same at higher speeds ( same resistance at both speeds). Been doing some research and I cant imagine that the rack is bad at 33000 miles. Thoughts? I am hoping its something easy. The magnasteer or speed sensor?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Corvette Forum. Your question will be moved to C5 Tech. A lot of good info there, good luck.

I'm curious about this outcome....I too have 2001 with 30000 miles, original owner pampered and maintained. Steering feels as you decribe. Have no leaks, no one has changed the power steering fluid. I'm thinking of having that done, although not confident it will change symptom. Dealer told me the Pumps or Internal gear no longer available??? Is this true?

Thanks...will check. Never considered doing that since absolutely no leaks been observed. Will check anyway.

Checked PS fluid level....full. Steering feel at standstill seems firm, not difficult but firm. In slow speed seems similar. I don't use this car allot, my memory of what should feel like is spotty. Underway at very low speed, ie maneuvering in driveway seems firm. Underway its seems semi-firm but fine. Original owner, 30K miles, spotless, meticulously maintained, always garaged, very lightly used. Perfectly maintained. Not looking for trouble, just wondering if this sounds normal?

Thanks as always.....
