they took the whole pan off and nosing around, nothing in the bottom end, they keep looking and keep tyrning it over
and spy 1 cam lobe done and the one beside it not far behind. not sure how he can tell by looking from the bottom up
but say the lifter failed, so it is time for a new cam and lifters. Going to go a little smaller this times, something like a
BTR stage 4, maybe Johnson lifters, not sure.. he recommends tie bar lifters, too rich for me and i don t track the car, or maybe just gmpp performance LS7 lifters.

Love it when I right and don’t even need to see the car !

Lifters alone or a cam isn’t gonna save you from re occurred bs...however hardened molly push rods able to with some outstanding psi rating .......

Sounds good except go with a hardened pushrod ...It’s not the most expensive but I am using a zz performance chrome molly ....they were about 99 bucks .. for the set came in a nice case ...I guess .....with 10lbs of boost and c7 800hp rates lifters ...stock rockers and springs ....

Well now, picked up Z yesterday, sounds good, replaced timing chain, cam and lifters,,
not sure if was cam or lifter that failed first. both nasty looking.
the specs on the cam I put in are a little less than what i had, it was way aggressive, come alive after 5k rpm.
pushrods remain the same length, so that is good. tuner can t look at it until tuesday the 22nd. oh well
as i say the specs are close and same pr. so i will be able to wander around with it, as long as i don t hit it hard.
am thinking 4k should be high enough for now till i get it in.

The lifter rolller bearing went then your cam ate up the rest ....a set of stronger push rods, and some nice 800hp + lifters plus a 300-400 cam would have been nice. But even the stock z51 cam hold up nice ! I run a stock cam under a supercharger 10lbs of boost ...tune matters , fuel really matter in my opinion and e85 is prob the best thing since sliced bred provided you are able to run it ....good luck ...but it actually looks like the engine wasn’t tuned in correctly the 1st time and that why it broke vibrations from knock ......and snap there go bearings ect......Prevent knock use a smoother more stable burning fuel...94 -97 ....e85 good luck hope your enjoying the car again...even if you shifting 4K -touching 5k shouldn’t have been a issue ....obviously your car was knocking at those rpms before so i was trying to tell ya it’s either your fuel or your tune and you can fix Both by running a better fuel and easying into the Rpms while tuning and after tuning until your know the cars responses

Stock cam stock length push rods would be plenty sufficient actually....but if u want 450 out of the engine the bt4 stage I guess will get u there ....I had no trouble making those digits on a stock camshaft it’s all in the tune ...and with one vara ram the car will push beyond that without all the extra ....

it was tuned properly.. no knocks. either a rocker failure or bad cam, after 15yrs. i run 94 all time.
no knocks and no vibrations, bad metals.
will still be making 490 with this setup
just run it easy for a few days and get it setup next week.
