Crank pulley squeel
2002 Z06 100k miles dedicated track car
Long story short, ive replaced all the accessories and deleted ac on the front of the engine and it would still squeel once it got hot. I pulled the serp belt and it still made the squeel. My crank pulley looks almost new, so i wanted to check for other opinions before i go through the process of lowering my subframe and pulling the rack to replace the pulley. I just dialed in my alignment and would really prefer to not mess it up to replace a pulley that might not even be the issue!

I would take the serp belts off and make sure that there is no oil on the pulleys first, a good nuke and wipe with brake cleaner. Inspect the belt for the same - clean or replace.
If you have to replace the HB, you dont have to drop the cradle to pull the rack, hell, you dont have to take the rack all the way out to get the pulley out - I didnt. I left it sticking out of the passenger side resting on a stool. Definitely pull the radiator to give yourself more room to work. It took me a day to do it and would have been done faster if it was just a HB / seal replacement. I did the HB, oil pump, water pump, timing components, and of course, the seal that got me in there to begin with. A bonus, it didnt mess with my alignment at all.

Power steering has boiled over a few times so there has been fluid on the pulleys. Even still, car still makes the noise when the belts are taken off so its gotta be the pulley.
PS-Ive already bought a new gatorbelt and katech tension, new alternator ect.
