After replacing the relay you must seal the EBCTM with new seleant to avoid moisture inside the unit when you drive the car under wet conditions later on .
You can do the entire process yourself (removal and resoldering), removing the ABS module isn't hard but its annoying because some of the radiator hoses are in the way. Nothing terrible though.
I had this code on a 2001 and just paid to have have ABS fixer do the rebuild as I didn't feel like cracking open the EBCM case myself and messing it up along the way. I paid 250 for ABS fixer to do it and also do an upgraded "surge suppressor" at the same time (I suspect this might just be adding a resistor so it doesn't surge the components on start up as much). That was 1000 miles ago. No ABS/traction control lights or issues since then.
Cheap money for the peace of mind of not messing up a potentially 1k to 2k component that isn't made anymore...
I fixed mine by resoldering inside the EBCM. If you’re careful it can be done DIY, to open the module up I drilled into the plug hole to widen it then screwed a tap bolt in and it started to separate.
