Default Keyless Entry System 2001 C-5 Coupe

Before I take my car to a dreaded Chevrolet dealer, thought I would run the following past forum members for input:
1. Key fob 1 and 2 both have new batteries
2. Both fobs programmed and compatible with DIC
3. Both fobs will unlock both doors.
4. Both fobs will lock the passenger door but not the driver door.
5. I can accuate the fobs and see the driver door latch acutate and attempt to lock, however, will not fully lock.
6. Any suggestions?

Can you lock the drivers door ok from the door button?

Yes, I can manually lock and unlock the door. Sounds crazy, could there be something inside the door that could use lubricant?

I meant, does it work properly using the electronic lock button on the door pad. Not the actual mechanical lever you use manually by the door handle.

Sorry about that - - - no, it does not work with the "push button rocker" on the door.

sure sounds like something sticking. Probably an easy fix for the dealer in this case.

You might try moving the manual lock back and forth a bunch of times to see if you can get loose again. If not, I think its repair time.

EL, in my 2000 coupe, I have a similar problem except that my drivers door wouldn't open! This only started happening a few days ago. Even using the electronic unlock from the driver's door won't work. After about 10-15 tries it will finally work. I believe kewlbrz is on the money suggesting that it may be a mechanical failure since after I manually moved the lock/unlock lever on the door several times it has worked for the past two days. I hope this fixes it permanently. If not something may need lubing behind the door.
