Default Seat swap

I'm hoping to hook up a set of Z06 seats. Does anyone know if they are a direct drop in replacement for the stock seats in a 97 coupe? How about the electrical connection / memory feature?

Thanks,

they should bolt in, but the connections will be different. the seats in my dad's '02 Z06 have less settings than my '01 coupe's sport seats. :seeya

I dropped in a set of Z06 seats into my 2000 hardtop. No problems. Neither the old nor the new seats had memory option. Neither had power seats on passenger side.

I'm not that lucky. I have the memory option and power on both. Does anyone know if this will throw codes? Can the codes be disabled with LS1edit or better yet with a resistor in the circut?

Actually, since I've taken my seats completely apart several times in order to swap covers and broken seat backs, I can tell you that under the cover and foam the seat frames are identical. You should be able to swap any of the parts from one to the other.

Depending on why you are swapping seats you probably only need to swap the leather covers and the foam underneath that. You might need to cut the Z06 passenger side's cover to make room for your electronics controls.

I just put a 2000 dr seat in my '98 it fit fine, but I made the mistake of using relay box from the new seat. now the memory and eazy in/out feature are not working (codes) the only way to clear the codes is with a scan tool!
I think if you disconect the battery and use your orininal memory relay you should be alright!

good luck :smash:

The seat itself should bolt up to the 97 lower tracks you have now, if I understand your post. The set frame is bolted to the lower track assembly with 4 bolts. That way your electric items will remain the same, except for lumbar as it isn't on Z06. Just use old set covers for a pattern to cut the holes for side control panels. Hope this is what you are looking for. Seats come out of car very easily. Have instructions scanned from manual if you need them. Ken

Everyone - thanks for the tips and info.

Kenrobb - I've had the passenger seat out to look into the rocking seat feature. :D

I'm mainly concerned with code issues that might be thrown. Mine are showing wear, plastic panel on drivers seat broken on corner near 6 way adjuster, etc. :mad I think the Z06 seats are lighter and look  I believe I'm getting tracks and all. The car they are coming out of has custom seats and mounts. I expect it to be a 4 bolt job. :D

Thanks for the offer of the manual, I think I can get by with out.
