I've searched about the emergency flasher button but the results were just for replacement.
My issue: I noticed my left turn signal wasn't working so I exercised the emergency flasher button a few times. Then, something snapped and it stuck in with the flashers stuck on. I pried off the button which stopped the flashing and noticed it's just hanging there out of it's holder. I tried pulling it towards me with a needle nose plier but the white part came out so I somehow got it back in. The brake lights still work. Is there a way to pull it back into it's holder or have the tabs broken?
It sounds like the mounting tabs behind the dash may have broken. Do a search for how to do a replacement. If your arm is small enough it is possible to replace without taking the entire dash apart.
When mine went out on previous 01, I removed the flasher and plugged in a new one and left it hanging behind carpet and didn't put it back in its original place on dash for some time because it was so hard to get to but finally did. I just wrapped some tape on the button so it would be snug in the opening so it wouldn't look bad. If it ever goes again it will be easy to replace hanging under carpet.
