Default Libor's slightly bigger tech thread about his Vette

Hello, some months ago I bought a manual 2001 C5 coupe, with 230000+ km ( 140k miles +- ). So far that car is a joy, I love every km in it. However due to its age/mileage and previous owners neglect, in some areas it isnt in a perfect condition, so I am slowly trying to fix it. And in this thread I would like your help and to know your opinions, about stuff that I have problem fixing, or when Im not sure if its the right way and etc. Maybe someone else will find help in this too.

Current issues:
DIC codes after reset: P0740 C, P0748 H, P0785 C, P1810 C, P1860 C, C1287 HC, B0502 HC, B0507 HC, B2482 HC, B0367 H, U1016 H, U1064 H

1. As you can se above, DIC is throwing bunch of codes that afaik are valid only for automatic transmision. When I start the car I also got warning "brake before shift". Hower the car is manual and always have been since factory. I guess in some previous repairs someone used some parts from automatic. Is this easily fixable ?

2. Traction control/competetive mode button doesnt do anything, doesnt matter if I just press it or if I hold it for long time. I checked it and electricity goes to it. I also tried to just simulate the button with a wire into the harness, incase something was wrong with the board. It still didnt do anything. Might the system be disabled as a whole, because of steering position sensor malfunction ? Or because the wheels have removed pressure sensors ? ABS works fine.

3. Transmisions fluid temp is shown as XXX. Im not sure if the sensor is bad or plain missing. Should I care about this one ? I do not track this car, or atleast yet...

4. Some weeks ago started my biggest current issue. Sometimes, when I use reverse, the transmision will remain stuck in reverse no matter what I shift into. Even in neutral its actually still in reverse and if I shift into something else, its like stuck between gears. So far I sucessfuly managed to unblock it all the time, by random shifting back to reverse and to something else numerous times or/and with random shaking with the stick. Sometimes I unstuck it fast, but sometimes it takes really long time and its annoying. This is happening mostly in the morning, If reversing is the first thing after I start the car. If I go to reverse after some time of normal driving, then it almost never happens. Overall shifting into reverse takes some force and sometimes I need to hold it in it to prevent grinding. With shifting 1-6 I never had any problems. Shifter seems stock, only top seems replaced with Hurst ball. Shifter rod seems moving fine all the time. Replacing clutch fluid had no effect to this problem.

5. AC stopped cooling, problem sourced to minor leak in AC system, looks like tiny leak arround compressor and in pipe to it. Currently I just reffiled the system and its cooling again so I will observe how long it will last and then decide if i should buy new components.

6. Minor engine oil leak. Source unlocated yet, small bit on a side of head and oil pan is slightly covered in oil. Currently just regurarly checking oil lvl to determine amount of leak, so far its unnoticable. Probably new gaskets needed ?

7. Side windows are a bit shaky from side to side. The whole part (clamps) that are holding the window, that are attached to motor/rope assembly seems moving when i shake the window. Is this a normal for C5 ? Or worn stuff that needs to be replaced ?.

8. Can the lenght of the metal rope from motor that moves side windows be adjusted ? Mine seems bit loose in both doors and when I try to move windows, nothing is happening for a while and then boom, big yank pull all of sudden. Im always afraid that something will break like that and I suspect that the rope might be source of this ? Or is this normal ?

9. I have stock radio head unit with tape+cd changer in trunk. However the changer is jammed. So I was thinking about possible replacements. Im mostly interested just in connecting my phone, so I can stream music from it or from services like Spotify. So for my needs it seems bit overkill to replace whole head unit + using adapters to Bose system or replacing whole audio system. Best solution for me looked like using BLU-C5 Music Streaming Kit from Discount car stereo. Is the bluetooth quality good enough ? In my other much newer car, the bluetooth is significantly worse in adio quality, compared to connecting phone by a cable. Also big problem with this solution is, that Discount car stereo doesnt ship to my country. Is this kit sold anywhere else ? Or is there something else/better to suit my needs ? Or would someone trusted here be kind enought to re-ship it to me, if i cover the costs ?

10.+ ... later

Things I already fixed/modded:
If anyone wants, I can try to explain details/photos if I have them of the following repair/fixes etc. :

Major and minor side windows height/position/tip in/out adjustments, placement/fit adjustment of some body panels like the ones covering headlights, repairing malfunctioning headlight motor assembly with aftermarket parts for vette/firebird, glueing various interior cracked plastics, refreshing leather parts and weatherstrips, removing decals from different parts on the car, clutch/brake fluid change, interior cleaning, switching to goodyear eagle asymmetric 3/5 tyres, minor cosmetic repairs, disabled DRLs and using aftermarket LEDs for daytime, changes (mostly lights) to satisfy EU laws as car was US spec, cleaning rain ducts, fixing loose seats moving back/forth, replacing missing bolts/parts, changed car battery to new and EU type, fixing loose air dam wing, and more to come soon...
Some of the other big repairs done by a seller ( https://pastebin.com/kRUgaNN4 ) + drivers side door replacement

Thank you to all who will read this and will have any helpful comment to anything from above. Maybe it will also help someone else.
Later, if interested, I might provide some photos of the car, as it changed quite alot from the time when last american owner had it.

Thanks again, Libor

Due to some errors I lost some replies in my thread, after I tried to edit it. So hopefuly this time it will be right.
User Bill Curlee asked me for fresh DTCs after reset and if I live in the USA. I confirm, that codes P0740 C, P0748 H, P0785 C, P1810 C, P1860 C, C1287 HC, B0502 HC, B0507 HC, B2482 HC, B0367 H, U1016 H, U1064 H are the freshest ones, read after reseting old ones and after starting the car. I live in the Czech republic, central europe, so access to Corvette specialists/help/tools here is kinda limited.
