Default Auto trans issue

So my c5 has been sitting for 4 years I recently just pulled it out and got the motor rebuilt and tuned with less then 100 miles my transmission is slipping and running extremely hot note before I let it sit for years it ran perfectly could it just be low and old tranny fluid or what else could be the issue?

That would be the first place I would start.
Its a very precise procedure and if it is not done right or you have a fluid loss and not refilled... This can be an issue

good luck

My C5 has been stored 2 times for extended periods. 1st time was 3 years, second time was 5 years. Neither time did I have any trans trouble (A4). Neither time did my tune change, either. If no fluid was leaking out, AND it had the correct amount in it before, it is likely correct now. The only thing that was really changed was your tune. I would stop driving it immediately, inform the guy who did the tune, and you could maybe take the PCM out of the car (not too difficult to do) and take just the PCM to the tuner yourself to save a towing fee. Have him recheck the tune. I'm sure he made a few changes as far as the trans is concerned. May be something simple. When you rebuilt the motor, did you change things internally that would require a new tune? Reason I ask is perhaps the old tune was saved, and could be reflashed to see if problem disappears. Do you have any codes? Good luck.

yeah I had to have a tune as I put a cam headers and changed internals it wouldn’t even idle When I did pick it up he said he smelled burning tranny fluid but couldn’t find a leak and ran good until the next day it started acting up

2 things come to mind if the tuner didn't jack up trans settings.

1) If you removed the radiator, did you properly refill the transmission (running at idle). If not it could be low.
2) Cam and internals - like pistons? How much more power does the car have - maybe you pushed an aging trans on that had one foot on the proverbial banana peel.

First check transmission fluid level using the FSM procedure. Report back-

If you are going to rebuild, make it strong.
