First dyno run with some tuning to do resulted in 546 RWHP. It was a little lean and had some knock retard. Looks promising , though.
This was on a Super Flow dual eddy current dyno. These tend to read a little lower than a Dyno Jet. Not sure how much, but it would have had better numbers on a Dyno Jet. Just to compare apples to apples.
Re: First Dyno results with Vortech (Andy@AandACorvette)
 As I haven't been following the SC posts that closely Andy.........how does that compare to the other blowers??? I know I've heard the Vortech is better engineered..........is this still your opinion after doing the install?
Great numbers! Did you dyno the car before you installed the blower? Just wondering what the actual gains were on a modded Z06. How much of a gain can people with a stock car expect?

Good question QuickSilver :yesnod:  So where's Andy???????
While your numbers are impressive, it's virtually impossible to know their real meaning? As indicated by others, do you have dyno nos for your car with everything on it except the Vortech? Does anyone have any figures for the rwhp gain on an otherwise stock Z06? Does the ATI set-up still produce more power on the same set-up car? Any and all info would be most appreciated.
Re: First Dyno results with Vortech (Barely Legal)
Great info Andy. I'm still thinking the Vortec over the ATI because of the price and what the ATI doesn't have in the kit. :D Thanks for the phone info the other day as well.
Your numbers seem good for a start, like others, I think you'll see mor HP with more tunning. Please post what HP you started with and when you are happy with the results post the finish numbers. I'm hoping that you will see nearer 600 when you are done  :D :flag ZO6Bill
My car has only a small (220 ) cam and headers. The run was just a preliminary run. Tuning was off quite a bit but I didn't have time to play with it. I had 3 other cars to tune that day. I was at the dyno until 9:00 last night. I had another car with a P1SC and the same cam and ported heads that made 561 at 6200. Another onw was a D1SC with a 224 cam and heads but with a 4.50 pulley and it made 589. I think the Vortech is right there.I know that when I get a chance to add some more fuel and maybe pull a little timing on mine tht I can gain some more power. Not that I need it.
As far as price goes. They are just about the same. The Vortech includes 42lb injectors. The D1SC doesnt. Although I do sell my P1SC Prochargers with 42# injectors instead of the 38s provided and I have the 42s in stock for the D1SC.The Vortech is about $350 extra for polishing and the Procharger is already polished. So it's just about a wash.
The only prblem I see is that the Vortech is not yet available for 1998 thru 2000 models due to interference with the ABS box. THey are working on that.
