Default Blackwing Cleaning Procedure?

I bought a cleaning kit for my Blackwing air cleaner from SLP. I don't know when the last time it was cleaned, thus wanted to get it cleaned up so I knew the state of it. The box didn't have any instructions in them, and what I suspect is the cleaner bottle didn't even have a label on it. The box had a big yellow sticker informing me to go to roushperformance.com to get instructions, but there isn't anything there that I could find.

Does anyone have or able to point me to the procedure for cleaning and re-oiling the filter? I've never had a cold air intake like this before, but I do know that too much oil can be a bad thing for the MAF sensor once re-installed. I'm assuming the procedure is on the forum here somewhere but I can't seem to figure out the search function to narrow down the results.

Thank you!

I bought my Blackwing, and Blackwing cleaning kit, in 2004. I just cleaned it for the first time in 16 years last week. The cleaning kit was so old, the cleaner pump wouldn't work no matter what, and the spray can of blue oil sprayed out in a pencil beam, not a wide spray pattern. I used the cleaner, and some Simple Green. A LOT of dirt came out, let me tell you. I used a hand held bristle brush, and a toothbrush. I also rinsed it from the inside out, after I got done cleaning the outside, with a hose. Dry your unit COMPLETELY. Then respray it with the oil. Do NOT use compressed air, you will damage the unit. After all of this, I notice no difference in fuel mileage, or performance. But my filter looks nice!! Maybe that little indicator that sucks in when clogged is accurate, after all. Good luck.....

You might want to buy some MAF cleaner, just in case. I did. Haven't had to use it, yet. I also wanted to mention that my can of oil was much smaller than the ones I see in the newer cleaning kits. Being 16 years old, they probably sold you the amount you needed for 1 cleaning. Today's kits may be larger so you have enough for 2 or 3 applications, and also add to the OEMs botton line!
