Rear rattling sound?
Seems like it comes more from the left drivers side, but hard to tell. It is intermittent, and sounds like clunking hollow metal, so my guess is the exhaust. It has the OE Ti mufflers connected to a full Kooks system.
I tried pushing on the exhaust tips with my foot when it was running, but difficult to do, and I didn't notice any change.
I looked around under and didn't see anything the looked odd, but I did notice the passenger side muffler moves more than the other, and when I hit it with my hand, it makes a similar sound.
Should I just put the rear on jack stand with wheels off and feel around? Anyone ever have a baffle in one of the mufflers break loose?
I think Kooks headers tend to run close to the diff (if I remember correctly it was on the passenger side) - plus my car is H/C too. The rubber clamp/vibration damper around there has a bit too much movement. I had to loosen the exhaust, push and reposition, and tighten down best I could.
Not sure that this is your issue - but might be something to look at, and an easy fix if it is the case.
