Need help from anyone tracking a LS3 swap
I recently completed an LS3 swap. The car runs great but I keep chasing oil leaks. I think I received the wrong advice on what to do with the hose port/nipple on the front of the passenger side valve cover. In a Camaro, this connects to the CAI between the MAF and TB. I don't have that port on my C5 CAI. I was told that it was just a vacuum and to cap it off. Now, I think my oil leaks are caused by pressure buildups caused by having this port capped. It only happens on the track.
Where did you guys connect this port?
Put a breather filter on it?
Add a port to your CAI?
Thanks,
CP

That port of the intake behind the TB goes to the Valley Cover as part of the PCV system (from the factory). Most people put a catch can in that loop.
I just spoke with Texas Speed (where I bought the crate LS3) and they recommend just putting a breather filter on it. They weren't excited about running it back to the CAI without a catch can. I read a few posts in other GM forums where people felt strongly that it needed to run to the CAI. Perhaps so that any air it sucks in is metered by the MAF? But Texas Speed didn't think this is necessary.
I would still love to hear from anyone tracking their C5 with an LS3
