I recently had a new clutch installed on my vette and something i've never experienced before has happened a few times. On cold starts, if i have to ride the clutch a lot (reversing out of tight parking spaces and then exiting my parking garage) the clutch will quite literally feel like it just drops out. I hear/feel a really hard "clunk" and it feels like the clutch suddenly completely disengages even when the pedal is all the way in. I just let off the pedal and push it in again fairly quick and things seem fine after.. Along with the clutch install I also had a new slave and master cylinder install. Did the shop possibly mess something up? Once the car is even slightly warmed up (over 90deg oil temp) this doesn't happen at all. Start/stop at lights etc. is all fine. Shifts perfectly fine.
Plan and simple. Yes take it back asap or they will not take responsible
I know this won't help any, but does anyone besides me find it amazing that GM went to a system like this? The older Corvettes with mechanical linkages seemed to work just fine for a long time (I had a '69 427 4 speed) without all the hydraulic and electronic BS. Just saying.
