Ouch ...never had a problem installing or removing my targa ...I always found the easiest way for way when I wasn’t storing it in the trunk I would test it on the top then get into the vehicle line it up buckle the fronts the back always goes in smooth
Maybe try pushing it back fist spray a little lubricant give it a go what’s the worst that can happen you break the latch ? That can be replaced I think
Maybe pull or push down on it and see if the latch is fully locked to start with . I would have threw a a couple of punches at at maybe a elbow just needs a little attention lol ...jk

I hear you. The handle is nearly flat against the stop (the roof) and that is not how my other top behaves. I will wait for the next sunny day and I'll unclip the front two and see if that gives me wiggle room. I really do not wanna ruin the mechanism!
Very common problem. Push the tab and then use something to pry down the latch. You’ll see a screw on the side of the latch. Unscrew it slightly to loosen the tension. Should work perfectly after that. (You may need to take off the little cover on the latch. I can’t remember)
I have tried that - on the handle side and it is stuck fast. I can try more force but I'm 6'3" 280 and the sucker didn't budge!
