6 speed trans won't go in reverse

6 speed trans won't go in reverse
If I hold the shifter towards reverse while the engine is running and turn of the ignition off, it will go in but it's hard . Any ideas? The other gears go in fine.

Mine has trouble going into reverse too especially on cold start. The trick that works for me is to put the car in 4th and slowly let out the clutch so she barely moves forward. Then I clutch back in to the floor and shift into reverse.
Once the car is warm (trans fluid is warm after a drive) I can keep the clutch down, shift to fourth, then straight to reverse.
