Need help with differential issue
I’m in the middle of a clutch job and some other goodies. I have the rear cradle out so the differential output shafts are accessible.
I replaced the driver’s side outer seal last year. This shaft is solid and has no lateral movement.
I noticed the passenger side shaft has about 1/8” of “play” in all directions. The outer seal seems okay but I plan to replace it anyway.
Is this “play” with the shaft a symptom of something further inside the differential? This is on a ‘99 base 6-speed.
