Default Help! fuel line recurve

I have seen mention of a fuel recurve line kit.
What is this and where can I get one.
I have a 97A4 w/ Granetelli air filters, SLP MAF, Hypertech
It runs a little rich now. How will this fuel recurve line effect this?
Thanks
Mark

The 97 & 98, maybe 99's have a vacumn controlled fuel pressure regulator.

When you add an after market air cleaner it tends to reduce the amount of vacumn between the air filter and the Throttle Body (TB). What the recurve line does is move the vacumn pickup point to a port behind the TB. This allows the fuel pressure regulator to receive the proper vacumn so it will adjust properly based on engine load. After 99 they did away with it.

I don't know which vendor to suggest you contact. I purchased mine from a non-supporting vendor "before" I joined the CF.

When your engine is a idle, there is no vacuum on the regulator and the fuel pressure is at about 60lbs. When a vacuum is applied, the fuel pressure can be reduce to 50lbs. This information was obtained with a vacuum pump and fuel pressire gage.

In stock configuration, there is no vacuum applied at idle, when the throttle is wide open, there is some amount of vacuum applied due to the restriction of the air filter, therefore the fuel pressure will be reduced. With an aftermarket low restriction filter, there will be little if any effect on the regulator.

The recurve kit attaches the vacuum line behind the throttle plate where the vacuum is high at idle, reducing the fuel pressure near 50lbs. at idle. During WOT, the vacuum is low so the regulator increases the fuel pressure up near 60lbs. This operation is just the opposite of what it does as connected from the factory.

In my opinion, this thing is some of that snake oil that you can buy to make the C5 go faster and can only be measured by the SOP butt-o-meter.
