New developments with dead car - please help diagnose....
Previous post:
I was on the way to my mechanic (to get a new starter) when my car died on the freeway with the infamous "reduced power mode".......
I am sooo pissed of about this......anyone have any ideas about what the problem could be?
I had been getting "service traction control and ABS" warnings for a few days....
I am close to parting with my love if things keep going like this
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update - starter has been replaced, now the car runs, but runs like poopie.....very bad idle. It repeats the "remove key for 10 second" on the DIC.
My mechanic says all codes have been erased due to battery diconnection while replacing the starter.

wwashing, where is this wheel sensor located?
I can answer that one - The sensors are in the axle bearing hub. The connectors are behind the rotors. They have two wires that are covered in black plastic loom tubing. The wires connect to the sensor via a gray weatherpack connector. The picture below is of the left rear rotor. The area in yellow is the wire leading to the sensor. The yellow circle is the approx. location of the sensor connector behind the rotor.

UPDATE: My tuner told me that he scanned the computer and is not getting any input from the Camshaft position sensor - anyone have any experience with this?

My dad's Buick w/v-6 had bad camshaft sensor. They like to never found the problem. It would die just like yours, at the worst time. Then restart ok. It ended up burning up the cat converter because of all the raw fuel being dumped at times. Anyway, sounds like a good starting point.
