New to the C5 world and the forum. I just got my 2001 Z06 the 1st of November, only had just under 43,000 miles when I got it, now has just over 44,000. It is my daily and didnt show any issues whatsoever, mainly getting use to all the C5 sounds, but again no signs of any issues. Then out of nowhere my clutch pedal starts sticking to the floor under normal driving and I had to pull the pedal out with my foot and the problem continued to get worse, while I waited on my new stage 2 monster clutch kit and remote speed bleeder to arrive, so I barely drove it. Ended up having a reputable transmission shop give me a second opinion after the first shop blew me off and they said it was likely the master cylinder so I just had that done and picked it up today. Car ran great and pedal felt fine until I was almost home after cruising around, then it started to have about half an inch to an inch of play again. Not sure what the issue would be at this point.
that is very normal. Did they bleed your clutch? (And I don’t mean the turkey baster ranger method that is useless.) I mean an actual bleed. 40k miles is way too early for the disc, plate or slave to fail unless the previous owner beat the hell out of it.
Thanks for the replies, it's appreciated. They did an actual bleed and replaced the master cylinder. I only question it because sometimes the pedal is firm the entirety of its travel, while other times it has the half travel of nothing like it did before the new master cylinder when my pedal was constantly sticking. Neither the old or new mc's appeared to be losing fluid.
You did the right thing. Ordered a new clutch and ur good to go. These cars are notorious on this condition so sit back and wait for your new clutch and no more problems. Don't let anybody convince u to buy a tick MC.
MC fluid looks good. I've got the clutch kit including the slave cylinder and speed bleeder for when that time comes...and when funds are a little healthier

Im sure ur going to hear this 100 times don't forget pilot bearing. Keep us informed.
I have owned 8 clutch cars (2 Vetts) and never had to put a clutch in. But then I was taught the old school shifting method back when I was 16, 57 years ago. For those over 60, you probably know what that is.
Sounds like the clutch is working properly now. I’d keep your clutch package fora later date. Why spend another $1000+ to install it if you don’t have to? I have 80k on my original clutch.
Amazon has 15 available. Who is doing your searches for you?
That's not a Corvette system...but if there's anything I have learned about dealer and independent shop people by reading our forums and others, is that even the 80th percentile guys are totally useless at best and at worst are actively trying to steal people's money.
The forum is a wealth of information and great people. I see you've been a member for 3 weeks. Welcome to the forum. You'll get the most value out of it if you don't tell people to "do their research bruh" on stuff as they might have years of experience already...
