Well what a surprise when coming into town and get a Traction Control / ABS warning. Hmmmmmm.

Was thinking , dang the soldier joints again? Hmmmmm. Can't be the battery as it's less than a year old and a bad cell had caused low voltage enough to light that up.
So, get home and shut the car down and come in the house to get my Instructions on running codes on the DIC . Go back to the garage and turn the ign on and no lights on the dash for the Trac Contol or ABS. What??
Did run the codes and came up with a TCS 1242 Pump motor ground circuit open.
Any one have that one yet? I'm gonna have to dig up the manual and see what's that's about.
But DiD watch this roll around this afternoon

Well, a follow up on the TCS/ABS warning lights.
Being as it cleared when I went back in the garage to get codes, I was wondering if driving the car would bring it back to the code state.
Great chance this morning as it's been raining on and off here in SW Louisiana. So, fired up Da Car and out we went around the neighborhood .
Made the rears spin in several of the corners and the Active Handling illuminated and went off.
YES!
I was told that you need to exercise the Active Handling every once in awhile to keep it working good. I admit I have not done this since Feb of last year and 28K miles ago.
So, we'll see where this leads.

I haven't heard anything about exercising the AH, but I have heard about exercising the ABS motor, on wet roads/gravel. Glad the code is gone....

Find a wet parking area or private area, kick it and spin the rear tires- straight, and with the steering wheel turned. This will kick in the T/C & AH. Then break it hard and the ABS should com on... I do my 01 about ounce a month,, great way to exercise the systems..Fun tooo..
