headlamp not going downing fully
My 97 C5 I noticed other day my right headlamp was not closed all the way. closed 90% down, I started up the car and opened and closed the headlamp and it closed all the way this time. this is 1st this happened since I owned this car in 3 years. I drove the car once since then day ago headlamp seems to be working fine opening and closing all the way Anyone have or had same issue? I know the gears are made of plastic I believe. Is this beginning indication right headlamp motor gears are going bad?

Could be going, but I would exercise it occasionally and see what happens before replacing. I assume it isn't grinding or you would have mentioned it. Mine acted up a few months ago and I just replaced the entire motor, 70 bucks from rockauto and all is well. Pretty easy job, 30 minutes taking your time and several youtubes on it. Good luck with it.

Did you hear any strange noise indicating a gear issue? If not it may have been from not using them for a while,. The motors stop on both up and down because the current load jumps when the motor drives against the end of travel stop bumper.
