What do you suggest for my 2003 Z06 as a shock replacement? Stockers are worn out and ride is choppy. Want something that handles well, but not as harsh a ride as stock.
The best stock C5 shocks came on the 2004 C5 Z06, I don't think they are available anymore as they were a one-year item. However, a lot of people have used C6Z shocks when replacing the shocks but I don't know how well they compare to the 2004 shocks.
Having tracked a stock C6Z for 6 years I can say I wasn't happy with the rear suspension on the C6Z. It was too stiff and had trouble with bumps in turns. I couldn't go to wide-open throttle coming off a bump turn as soon as I could with my 2003 Z06 so the extra 100HP didn't provide as much gain as I expected. After a couple of years, I updated to the DRM modified Bilstein Shocks that improved the response of the rear suspension to bumps. I would look at Bilstein B8 Performance Plus Shocks Vs the C6Z shocks or go to the DRM modified shocks for the C5 https://www.dougrippie.com/c5-suspension
