Default Cutting power to the BCM

Hey Guys,

I'm running a c5 chassis in an older car (Intro post) and I'm utilizing the BCM for a few functions. My issue is that the car stays "awake" for a long period of time after I shut it off. I'm assuming that's because its looking for a signal to go to sleep like the drivers door opening and closing or something similar. Since I'm not using the door switches or the key fob I don't have anyway of telling it that it can go to sleep so it ends up draining a lot of battery. My thought was to put a switch inline with the BCM's power wire and just manually killing it but I'm concerned about what cutting power suddenly and repeatedly would do. Anyone have thoughts on this?

I don't believe that cutting power to the BCM should be a problem.

Thanks for the input. I also don't see why it would be a problem but wanted to run it passed the brain trust before I went ahead and did it.
