Default Bell Housing Install Help Needed

I removed the bell housing on my 6-speed to replace the rear cover, seal, etc. Installed a new LS7 LUK clutch. Torqued down to specs.

I have the intake off and have a bottle jack under the engine. I’m able to move the engine up and down about 2 inches.

I got the housing off by tilting the motor back but now can’t get it back on.

Anyone out there have a tip to get it back on? I’ve tried all sorts of angles and twists but can’t get it to clear the starter and the frame, ect at the same time!

From the photo, you can see the new

pressure plate is a bit different but the installed height is the same. And the picture of the old clutch still installed, you can see there is plenty of clearance so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. I may try rotating the clutch to see if that works but I doubt it because its symmetrical.

Thanks!

Well Son of a Gun! This forum must be therapeutic or something. Just after asking for help, I managed to get it back on.

I guess rotating it a 3/4 turn, while manipulating the bottle jack up and down while twisting the housing, I managed to get it back on.

Thanks to all I know would have offered advice. Maybe this post will help someone out there.
