I just installed my Euro tail lights. I noticed a gap between the lights and top of the light wells on the rear fascia. Is this normal? I didn't notice the gap with my original lights. This is on all 4 tail lights.
Ours five, and I love the look. So do others. I've received several thumbs up for the tail lights. I also think they provide better notice to drivers behind us that we are turning, imagine a mod that also provides better safety, a useful mod, who'd ever of thought!
Bill :) :)
In contrary to the US lenses, the Euros have a u-shaped design around them. It could perhaps carry a big big O-ring to get rid of the gap.
The way I went is a bit different. On all four lights I noticed, that they were just put in at assembly line and fixed, without any centering in hight. So they were all four contacting the bottom, with a big gap up above. As indication for this you can take a look at the fascia mountings when the lights are out. The holes for the screws of the lenses are out of center.
So I decided to use new srews with metal clamps. To put on the clamps I had to cut the rear of the mounting area. There is a build up of plastic to hold the screws. Put on some big bores, put on the clamps and now I can adjust/center the lenses in hight as I like.
If someone needs pictures let me know. The clamps I´m talking about are used all over the car, specially on plastic parts. Do not know if clamp is the right word.
