Hi all,
I could really use some help/advice here...got my suspension apart doing ball joints/bushing etc and got cleaning up my a arms and came across this:
I can't tell if these are casting lines or if they are the start of a failure - this is the bottom side of the lower A Arm where the shock bolts in. Am I being crazy or did I catch a problem?
The other side A Arm is smooth around those depressions so that is what stood out to me as I'm cleaning off years of grime and gunk. Thoughts? Appreciate your help all.
I just checked my control arms and they are both smooth around those pockets. It's possible that the one you're showing is an aftermarket replacement and of a different quality than the oem. If that was an indication of a failure it would have completely failed by now. If you're not confident that it is not cracked then I would just replace it.
