Clutch has had it
See http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=448453 for all the gory details.
Looks like it's time for a new one. I have a catalog from one of our CF vendors showing a McCloud aluminum flywheel & clutch assembly package ~$1,400.00. Does this sound like a reasonable setup, (see sig for mods), for my car?
I'd like to go to an aluminum flywheel so the motor can spool up quicker. I realize that I'll be trading some torque but, I figure if I need more torque on the launch I can simply bring the R's up higher.
Given my mods are not that major, I could probably get away with a Z06 clutch assembly from the same vendor for ~ $369.00, however, I intend to add MT ET Streets soon so I'm a little concerned that I may need the heavy duty assembly.
Also, I"ve never experienced any clutch problems associated to the hydralics. Can I leave the master and slave in place and just replace fluid and blead?
Any stick shift guys out there have recommendations for clutches. The $1,400.00 is about my limit for this repair.
Thanks,
