Default Just Venting Some. 2002 Coupe

I had my 3rd and 4th gear clutch packs go out in transmission couple months ago. Well I bought a used 03 transmission with 20000 miles on it. A friend of mine who owns a shop pulled transmission and installed used one for $500. Ok. I needed new tires so drove from his shop to tire store and car shifted and drove great. Installed some new continental tires all around $1011 more dollars.Left tire store and drove great for 50 miles and this transmission went out. Ok friend pulls this shitty trans and I take my original tranny and have it rebuilt for $1100.
Friend installs this trans for another $500. Test drives it and no 2nd or 4th gear. Guy who built trans says probably servo problem. Will not help money wise on pulling and reinstalling trans. Pull trans again another $ 500 and take back to builder he says he will fix . Calls me to come look at problem he found. Says trans was full of water in trans fluid. Car was driven less than mile when we found no 2nd or 4th. I think he could not find or fix his screw up and blaming the water for problem. To say I was pissed is understatement. Went and checked transmission lines at shop not one drop of water in lines or fluid. Went and got transmission and told his sorry *** I would see him in court. I am letting a trusted builder my brother knows to do rebuild or see if he can figure the other guys mess up. It has been a real learning and costly experience.

Man, I'm sorry to hear of your troubles. I almost hate to tell you this, but my 2000 Vert has the original 4L60E still in it, and it's had a 427 yanking on it for 15 years now. 116,000 miles, and no problems. I know the 4L60E does have a LOT of critics, but mine has done me absolutely great. If I had to guess, I'd say the guy who sold it to you wasn't totally honest as to the mileage and condition. I'd also guess the."tranny wizard" you had rebuild it wasn't very high on the Dean's list of tranny wizards. I wish you the best of luck with your problems......
