Just flew down here and picked up a 2001 MY z06. Drives great, but the headlights won't pop up. Occasionally the drivers side does, but not the passenger side. I'm supposed to be driving this home (Tacoma, WA) on a very tight schedule. I need to pick up a 2nd party in San Diego on Friday, meaning I need to leave here early Wed AM.
I have 2 days to either replace the headlight motors, or switch to a fixed headlight of some sort. Does anybody know if any Chevy dealers stock the headlight motors? If not, are there any local vendors that I could buy absolutely anything from to get this working?
Thanks in advance for any help, and here's a pic for attention.
You can raise the manually by hand and just leave up. There is a dial you can turn which is connected to the motor. You may have a soft plastic cap covering the dial which you turn to raise and lower head lite.

I can crank them up by that for sure. I'm looking for a more permanent solution, as every time I turn the car/headlights off, they go back down and then don't come up.
You can raise the headlights manually. Raise the hood / look for a rubber boot covering the headlight motor and **** to turn. The top of the boot is about 1 inch in diameter and under the inside edge of the headlight. Remove the boot / turn the ****. That should get you home if you can't get the motor fixed prior. Good luck!

If you put them in "park" before shutting the car off they SHOULD stay up...
Will the parking lights shut off with the cars ignition? I haven't tried that.
eh, damn, im not thinking through things tonight... no they would stay on which is obviously a problem...
I guess I am thinking gas stops since it sounds like you are going to hammer fest the drive home... Parking lights on for 10 minutes while you gas and ****, no big deal. Parking lights on while you sleep in a hotel, dead battery
For longer stops it takes what, 30 seconds to crank the lights up.
Or crank them up and pull the fuse for the motors. I THINK its a separate circuit from the actual light bulb, but im not going to say that with 100% certainty..

Fuses, good call. I'll check that and see if thats a separate fuse! Thanks
As has been said, you can crank the light up by hand. I know that can be a PITA though. I have a sort of off the wall suggestion that you could try. In the C5 many LED headlight bulbs will cause the lights not to close normally because there isn't enough resistance. People get around this by flipping on there high beams just before turning off the car. However, this my solve your problem. If you install LED bulbs, the lights may stay open when you turn off the car. Not all LEDs cause this issue every time, but some do. It might be a cheap option that will get you where you need to go. In the long term, I would certainly replace the headlight motors though.
