I made a plug using a 3d printer and sealed it in place with some black RTV. A 3d printer isn't necessary; measure the hole diameter and cut a circle to match out of any thin black plastic, cover the outside of the hole with wide blue masking tape then glue the plug from the inside for a flush look when the tape is removed.
Here's the plug on a Variram intake,
Just go get the Dorman vacuum caps available at any auto parts store. The combo bundle has one that fits perfectly, believe its the largest one in the pack. Easy.
+1 for the dorman caps. Leave the elbow in the airbox and put the cap on the elbow. I used a little vaseline to get it on there because it's still a tight fit. I found that autozone had the variety pack with the big cap that I needed. Advance didn't have anything but the little ones.
I found that dorman kit tonight at my local autozone. All done. Thanks guys!
Another option I used is similar to the posted 3D printed plug. I used a red plastic pipe plug, with silicone sealant around the outside lip. It fit pretty tight. Just my opinion, but I've had those rubber vacuum port plugs age, then crack and fall off whatever vacuum port/tube they were supposed to be plugging. Keep your eye on it.......
