Mileage upgrade
After plowing thru the threads for 3 hours, here is my request. My C5 LS1 is punching 69500 miles and has a, I believe, a lifter rattle. My thoughts are to keep the engine as stock as possible as it already shoves one into the back seat! So we are looking at the following:
1. lifters & trays
2. timing chain & damper kit
3. oil pump & related
4. Harmonic balancer & seal
5. push tubes (correct length for lifters)
6. Valve springs ?
7. Trunion kit ( If not already installed)
What would be other suggestions for one such as this? I'm going to farm all this out as we're getting too damn old to hunch over a fender. I'm not sure if there is a corvette specialty shop here in Amarillo, Texas so may have to go to a dealer? Your thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
