Pink number 1 in my post above tells me you have an ls6 valley cover. Do you have a photo of this side of the motor before it was disassembled?

Whoa. That’s not what that’s suppose to look like. Do you know who did that to your pcv? I would ask them why.

No idea but it's just a PCV valve in between the valley and the intake. It was like that when I got it and the guy before me didn't have it very long. I do recall him saying that the guy before him had something done that was supposed to fix the oil consumption issue. This is the reason I would like to do it the right way this time around whether i need the PCV valve or not lol.

Only 2004’s got the ls6 valley cover from the factory. So your 02 should not have this. But given that it was installed later I can’t say whether that external pcv is needed. My gut says no but I’m not sure. Kind of defeats the purpose of installing the ls6 valley cover if your just going to use the external pcv again.

I guess i'll ask my tuner his thoughts when he goes to tune it. Thanks for your input though.

Based on what I'm interpreting of what you have, I suggest you look at the figure on the bottom of Page 5. Center port of the Catch Can connects to your valley cover and/or your passenger side valve cover and the outlet will connect to manifold vacuum. Simple as that. The second outlet can be plugged. If the Throttle Body doesn't have a vacuum port, you need to find an available port on the intake manifold for your outlet connection. Good Luck!
Agree with this, no need for 2nd exit outlet unless you have FI. As per Elite Engineering comment on the product page:

"You also have the option of choosing the number of Exit Ports your Catch Can will have. Most applications will only require (1) one 1/4" Female NPT Exit Port, but you can choose to have (2) two 1/4" Female NPT Exit Ports for Forced Induction set-ups."

He has a Z06 not a base car so he has an LS6... So late or early doesnt matter... Although I do believe there was a change from 01 to 02,3,4 LS6's in regards to pcv in GM's quest to control the LS6 eating oil.

BUT my original description of how to route his can stands... Valley to can inlet and can outlet to FAST manifold. Then either a small filter on the valve cover or valve cover to intake air bridge(either silicon connector or the air bridge itself)...it just needs a source of clean filtered air.

I'm like you still puzzled with this pcv valve , I ended up completely removing it , I just connected straight to my chepo catch can, ( I already got the elite engineering one, will be putting that in later after my build) here's the issue I had when I install that check valve before the catch can , I get crazy rpm surge , it's like this :driving no issues as soon as i pull up to the stop light engine reves up over 1k rpm , like someone is pressing the gas pedal...so I removed it and seems to run normal( I've been driving like this for few years no issues) . So hopefully here soon I'll be installing the elite set up with my fast 92mm and ls2 throttle body, and will see how it goes.

I would recommend removing the pcv. It serves a very specific purpose.
