My 2001 roadster got a soaked carpet from the recent heavy rains while parked in the driveway, the drains it seems didn't keep up. I pulled out the seats to remove the wet carpet to dry things out and noticed a noise from the computer / fuse box area in the passenger footwell area, The car or ignition was never turned on since it got wet but there is a constant cackling noise from this area, it sounds like from the computer. The computer and fuse box didn't get wet but it's possible I suppose it may have received some condensation from the wet carpet below. I've disconnected the battery for now and the noise of course stopped but not sure where to go from here. Has anyone had an issue like this?
This is a pretty common issue there's a sticky at the top of the tech forum discussing fixes. You should remove the BCM in the passenger kick panel and dry it out.

There is a youtube on how to install an LMC5 column lock device on the BCM, google it and that will let you see where it is and it just pulls out and unplug 3 three big wiring connections and then as others I have read behind say, take the cover off and dry it out and clean with alcohol and qtips, very carefully. The clicking is probably a relay and if you reconnect battery it may clear if it is stuck. I would try this before I tore into BCM if you are sure it didn't get wet. Pull kick panel of and take a look at the outside of BCM and see if it has any evidence of water. Good luck with it
Thanks for your help! It turned out that the noise in the BCM was from the battery being low not from moisture. Once I put it on the charger it finally stopped.
