Default 04 ZO6 coils

Hey guys,
I bought coils and coil brackets from 04 ZO6 because I need the coil brackets to mount the coils on the 243 heads that's going on my 97 C5. My question is, is ZO6 coils better than the ones on my base 97 C5? Where is the coil bracket bolts pt # and where can I get the bolts?

Here’s your part number.... you’ll probably find it cheaper on eBay or if you not installing coil/fuel rail covers, it’s cheaper to just go to the
hardware store buys some regular metric bolts... part#/description/size see picture...

OP - The part numbers are the same, the valve covers are the same, the coil brackets are the same. Just use what you have on the '97. Just because you're using 243 heads doesnt make a difference.

My 97 c5 base has perimeter bolts on the cylinder heads covers and coils are mounted on the head covers, when i replace the heads with 243 heads my understanding is i need the coil brackets to mount the coils to 243 heads. Am i wrong????

Wow, I just did a google search and it appears '97-98 had different valve covers. Thats crazy. All the other LS1 stuff is interchangable between LS1 and LS6. I did not know that. Looks like you will need the newer style covers and coil brackets, but they dont have to be LS6 specific. Anything newer than '98 should have what you need.

Yes you'll need the coil brackets and the bolts to attach the bracket

Yes, the first 2 years the LS1 was produced it wore perimeter valve cover bolts! Why in the world they did this is beyond me!! They had finally fixed the leaky valve covers on the traditional SBC by going to center bolt valve covers. So what do they do? Go backwards, and go back to perimeter valve covers again! Go figure......
