Brake bias after EBCM code/failure
1) After an EBCM code or failure, does the car have a base brake bias it reverts back to? From searching the forum, looks like the ABS system adjusts the bias on the fly. With no EBCM, and therefore no ABS, I would imagine this bias either goes back to some preset or maybe freezes in the last position it was in?
2) Can you cycle the ABS system with a Tech II (or similar) with a non functioning EBCM?
Thanks!
Other years are certainly controlled by the EBCM but I think with a high degree of certainty the front/rear bias won’t disappear if there’s a fault. It’ll revert to a safe “normal” setting (if bias does actually change through normal function)
I’m not certain control via the OBD port if there’s a fault but unless it’s gone bad I imagine the pump can still be made to run.

As if the cracking valve springs that toast the engine and the leaking gas tanks that turn the late C5s into a Pintoesque inferno weren't bad enough!
Now we have unbiased brake applications caused by failing EBCMs! Yee Gods!
I don't know how people can drive with the random brake applications of the late model EBCMs with devil active handling. How did GM sell these things to an unsuspecting public?
Oh the humanity!
Back to the old days when brake proportion valves were separate from the EBCM. The car still maintains its' handling integrity and drive ability with or without ABS and safely takes its occupants to their destination.
Only in the pre-2001 C5s can you find such safety and performance going hand in hand.
God save the Queen!
I think there's a You-Tube video in there somewhere.

If your ebcm is out your have old school brakes no help on slippery road, if your that old to remember.
I drove the car hard at Mid Ohio without the nannys, knowing to keep an eye out for wheel spin and lockup, and the car still drove great! I was just curious.
