Under what circumstances does this noise appear? After shut down? How long does it continue?
Are you sure it is not coming from the adjacent fuse/ relay center? It could be a relay stuck/buzzing.
If you are unsure of origin, buy an automotive stethoscope and investigate.
Does it run down the battery? Maybe time for a battery drain test.

Have not started car for few weeks, been in and out with door open for awhile each time. . Today went to push button to open trunk. int. lights were dim, and trunk wouldnt open . opened hood to hook up charger, heard the humming . It stopped before I hooked up charger, Went away, came back after about 4 hours. took charger off, and everything seems normal. no buzz/ hum any more.. Thanks for response! Batt. is less than 2 years old.

As I recall, a relay may buzz if the battery voltage gets low. A two year old battery can be bad. If you leave it for weeks I recommend a battery maintainer. My car has been on a maintainer 24/7 since 2009 except when driving. Batteries last longer on a maintainer in my experience. If you change the battery, an AGM is safer from leakage and damage to electronic components below.

Thanks, It was fine this morning. I`m thinking thats what it was. I have been trying to get mirror of to wire V 1 to it. Not having much luck. don`t want to break it. Plug doesn`t want to come out, and mirror doesn`t want to un snap from windshield. Thanks again!!

There's a Torqx screw at the bottom of the mirror pad that slides over the pad glued to the glass, loosen the screw and slide the mirror assembly up and off.

Mine doesnt have the screw, I kinda know how it comes off, just cant seem to get the tab to unsnap. Just had windshield replaced, and dont want to break anything. Gonna try to make a tool to get the tab unsnapped.
