I'm not driving my vette as much as I used to so when I last took it out, I noticed some oil on the garage floor. My mechanic checked it and told me there was a leak around the oil pan and the only way to replace the gasket was to pull the engine. Is that correct?
Or try Titan Oil Stop-Leak. I had the same diagnosis with my 04 Murano. I Needed to pull the engine to fix the upper pan gasket. No Way. I either will put up with the leak or try something else. I researched and found the Product TITAN Oil Stop-Leak. I decided what the he**, and bought it. Not cheap. But it is still working after 12 months AND if it starts leaking again, you get a second free.

You do not have to pull the motor. I just did this job on 2 C5s. You can support the motor from above and drop the front suspension out. If you take your time this is a fairly easy job. Mine and my friends were leaking pretty bad and we had had enough.

That's another good option I suppose. The subframe would come out easily enough.
Over a year, 15 months +. No leak, or no smell of burning oil on Headers. Very pleased with the result. But probably not so with many of the purist crowd on fixing things.

Hell, I'm all about a short cut if it works. How many miles in that 15 months?

This is how mine was fixed. I needed to get an alignment afterwards though.
I have never been one for 'miracle cure in a bottle'. Not saying what was recommended is good or bad, just have never had one work for me, over promised and under delivered.
Kind of like putting a raw egg in your radiator to stop a small leak. Sure it hard boils and stops the leak temporarily and clogs up a lot of other small passages that you didn't want plugged.
Bite the bullet and fix it right.

I agree. I had the same thoughts for the oil leak fix until I used the Titan product. There are some chemical products out there that do work. The other one I found worked for me was Reslone oil treatment that I used to quite noisy lifters in my Maxima.
