RP Motorsports in Marietta put my Big Bore engine in. They did a good job but they also took forever. Atlanta Chassis Dyno put my clutch in. They actually botched the job causing me to have to purchase and install another clutch, BUT, they also payed for everything. Nice guys. There are several more but I only have experience with these two. If you went to Savannah I could help you more.
I had mine put in at Tom Jumper in Roswell by David Fultcher 25 years on Corvettes. He quoted me a price that was lower than RP and some other Corvette guy near I-285 and Briarcliff Road.
Made an appointment, watched him do it in under 3 hours and drove it back home the same morning. Big time professional and effieient. They treat Corvettes right at that dealership's service department.
However, I have gotten the P1870 slip code since. This is an excess slip problem that comes with after market TC's and the Predator can not cure this code nor can it adjust the locking or unlocking of the TC without getting a custom program. That is why I am looking for Ls1Edit guys instead of getting a Predator my self.
Forgot to mention Tom Jumper. David F. is a great mechanic but unfortunately the service managers suck! My car sat outside for a week and it was supposed to have been completed(clutch install) in 2 days. I know that is not THAT BAD but they kept lying to me so I pulled my car and will never go back. :cuss
I believe the trick is to talk directly with David - I have gone through Dean Matson but David calls all the shots. Also I am quite flexable with my time - so they call me when it is "my time to get worked on" and I bring it right over and it goes right in and gets worked on. I often just wait and watch them work on it. Very informative. However my experience has been limited to 4 occasions - so far - but all were very positive.
Well, I did talk directly to David. Unfortunately David is not the boss there. He is only allowed one lift(what I was told) and another vette got stuck there on a ring job b/c someone ordered the wrong parts. David is a great guy and I would recommend him to anyone who wishes him to do some work on the side.
I've always gone to Dave's American Performance Corvette Repair in Tucker. I had the water pump on my C5 replace there on Friday. He has a lot of experience with transmission/TC's on corvettes. I plan on using him in the spring for a TC and gear upgrade.
