Default Worried I知 Missing Something

Bought a broke down C5 with and LQ4 already in it, full exhaust, TSP 224, stage 2 clutch, CAI...and low oil pressure and serious tick.

Tore it down and has spun cam bearing so I sent it to machine shop and went 30 over. Ordered new torquer V4 cam, forged -2cc CP flat pistons, king bearings, 1.8 CC rockers, summit lifters, 799 heads from Craigslist, TSP dual 660 springs/seat kit.

Am I missing something? This ok on stock crank and rods? Should I go fast intake or will this do for now? All feedback is appreciated, I致e read so many stories about people just throwing items in a car and never doing research so I致e done a bit but would like anyone痴 input.

Before you button up your motor, make certain you have the correct O-ring in the pump pickup. This could be a classic what came first, the chicken, or the egg? My point is:
Did the bearing spin, and your oil pressure dumped? Or, was the LQ4 assembled by someone who pinched the oil pump O-ring at the end of the pickup tube, then the low-to-no oil pressure spun the bearing? While you're checking the oil pump, check and make sure the relief valve isn't stuck open. These 3 things are imperative for a reliable motor. One more bit of advice. Pistons and rings are made in standard and OVERSIZE. Crankshaft are standard, or ground UNDERSIZE, then fitted with UNDERSIZE bearings. Not trying to be a wise ***. But proper terminology never hurts. I've seen guys install LQ9 engines in the C5, but an LQ4 transplant is slightly uncommon. Usually a cast iron block is swapped to run Nitrous or a turbo. I wish you luck.

All good information, thanks! You池e correct, low oil pressure. I didn稚 even think about the oil pump relief, I did check pickup tube, at that time I replaced the oil pump while I was there. I noted that the cam retainer plate bolts were not tight, which now I can see why.

I have a feeling the previous owner just swapped the cam into a block that wasn稚 gone through so they didn稚 replace the cam bearings.

as far as lq9 and lq4, the only difference is the shape of the piston, I知 fairly certain. Dished vs flat in lq9.
