I ran down to Daytona to see John at CCW and put on his road racing package. The wheels match my 16" drag setup. They are 18"x10" & 18"x11.5" with pilots 275/35 frt 335/30 rear. The pilot 335/30 is the same height as the 295/35 so no diff in that area. They appear to show a little at some angles but my girlfriend followed me in my van to bring back my zo6 chrome 18" set, and said they looked great and if they were too wide you couldn't see it from behind. This is putting an extra 1/2" of wheel and tire on the ground front, and 1" of wheel and 2" additional on the ground rear. The diff in traction and launching on street tires is incredible since I had essentially no traction with the 295s. The car drives like its nailed to the ground and I found myself almost stalling at lights as I normally have to ease off the line so easy. I'm not saying you can't break these loose because you can, but from a roll to even go to half throttle in the first couple of gears use to create tremendous wheel spin and now its much more controllable. The wheels as most of you know are billet and are very light and they look great on the car.
Where's a moderator when we need them? Man posts about new wheels. Man does not include pics. Man gets docked points. That's the rule. Better get a pic up soon

You can check mine out for the time being. Mine have been shot peened in the center and anodized though. I have been telling people for years that these 335's don't really stick out enough for anybody to really notice. 1/8-3/16" max if they do..and the footprint is so much larger than a 295! I run 285's up front. Lots of traction with John's setup..he knows more about wheels than anybody else...thats why CCW's are all over the track.
Do not use the picture in my sig to guage how far the wheels stick out,,,,the angle of the picture makes them appear to stick out 4". Instead click on my home page link..there is an independant picture the rear wheel and tire on my car..I used this setup on both my 97 and 01...enjoy.
What a motor, you will diff need all the rubber on the ground you can get, I got this idea from Shinobi's post, hes been running this setup for years. I can turn up my boost now but Shinobi breaks his 335s loose at 100 mph so i'm not sure i'm going to turn mine up that high(well maybe I will). I notice they kept your stroke short I assume this will be a high rev advantage for spray system. Dark when I got back from Daytona I'll see if I can get my pics to post tomm.
John knows his stuff. I ended up putting 335/30/19's on my C5 when I put on the SpecterWerkes body kit. Yes we will always be able to spin em but what the heck! (I don't use this setup for drag racing....just for the street. I have CCW's and skinnies from John for the track).
Snowman-I have the drag setup from John as well, I also have a white coupe, If the rain would ever stop I'll post some pics I have an RK spoiler and spectre works c5r style hood and am looking at light setups. Do you have bugeyes the damn things are growing on me.
I have the Breathless lights....if you look in the magazine articles on my car there are lots of pics. I don't prefer the SW headlights...which is an ongoing good-natured banter I have with Jeff at Spectre-Werkes at any rate. Each to their own. I also have the BPP floods which live in the license plate space in the front bumper. I am a little night blind and drive fast anyway (my favorite time to travel and make good time is late at night). I need all the light I can put on the road so I don't outdrive my headlights.
snowman-I'm with you on that one I looked at some of Ernie's lights at the Eckler show and liked them very much, I was particullarly attracted to the fact that he had some with the white interior so I wouldn't have to paint them. How about those running lights I was considering them as well as I don't have the night vision I had as a younger man as well. What magazine articles I would like to see them, your sig doesn't mention all your mods I would be interested in other things you have done. Your car looks great do the canards present any additional problems with scraping in and out of shopping centers etc.
