YES. It is separate from the light. I believe the sensor is located in the oil pan near the starter, and the DIC will say 'oil level low, or low oil level. I forget exactly what it says. But you'll know it when you see it. If, and when, you do see it, be prepared for a rapid increase in your pulse, along with a corresponding increase in blood pressure!!!

And i can't believe people can get to that bugger without pulling the intake manifold.
Agreed. I also can't believe how many people are reluctant to pull the intake!! The C5 has one of the easiest to remove intake manifolds ever made!! Do it a couple times, and it won't take more than 20 minutes to remove it the 3rd time! No coolant to drain, unplug the fuel line, remove 10 6mm HHCSs that go straight down, and unplug a hose or two. Presto, it's off....

yep, I didn't even bother with the popular relocation mod because its easy to get to. I suppose if you had a supercharger kit would make it bit more work, but i can only dream about a vortech $$$

Mine is showing 0-5 lbs. I am assuming its the pump but will replace the sensor first.

Are your lifters clattering? If so, then you have low oil pressure. However, it could possibly a faulty oil filter, as well as a bad sensor. When was your last filter change? (it's a cheap and easy thing to try)

Well its up to you when you replace the oil pressure sensor, its not a bad job to do, intake "O Rings" are a must so you don't introduce a manifold leak, and knock sensors while you are in there. I also suggest a remote location kit so if it ever happens again, its a 5 minute fix.
