Default exhaust

just got my car last week and would like to put some pipes on it. It appears by reading the forum people seem to like the Stingers. I ran into a guy the other day w/ Corsa Tiger Sharks. I heard the car run (sounded nice) but when he reved and when he took off, a lot of spitting and popping sounds while coming down from the rev. is this condusive of aftermarket exhaust?

I like the SLP Loudmouths for looks w/ the 4.5" tips, but notice not many people have them when they list the mods. Not good?? or just too much noise?

Most of the popular, louder aftermarket exhausts pop and gurgle - Stinger, Corsa Indy, PRTs, Loudmouths, XR1. It is probably still present, but to a lesser degree on Corsa Touring and others. not all exhausts have the popping - an X-pipe apparently reduces this too.

As for the Loudmouths - they are, as you might guess, loud. They are the loudest aftermarket system as they completely replace the mufflers. Snide has them and posted a sound clip recently - scan through the last day or so of posts or do a search and you should find it. Many people, including me, don't like the LM tips. They sound great though. :seeya

if you like the poping then keep you standard H pipe. X pipe gets rid of popping. Stingers IMO are too loud and resonate in the cabin in the lower RPMS. I have the Corsa Indys on mine. No resonance/ quiet as stock at idle/ and loud as hell at WOT.

I just put on the SLP Loudmouth last week and I absolutely love them! They sound incredible! The meanest and nastiest sounding exhaust going. The only problem I can see is the quality of the tips. From behind, the 4 1/2" tips look sweet, but up close they have a cheap look to them.

Magnaflow w/ x-pipe does not pop. Also, the fit and finish are the finest on the market.

4 in. pipes look incredible. :yesnod:

Steve, I have the MagnaFlows, and FLP's and h/c that a buddy and I installed on mine. If you'd like to hear this combo, you're welcome to stop by and give a listen.
