Default LS1 Balancer advice

Hey Guys--So I am planning a cam swap in my 99 FRC this summer. I will be replacing the balancer as well before it gives a problem. Seen some good reports on teh Summit Racing unit. What others should I look at? The car is a daily that is getting a mild cam, headers, intake, TB, CAI. No FI and no track time. Any advice? Anything else I should look into doing while doing the cam swap?

I replaced mine with a ATI Superdamper Balancer recommended by my Vette go-to Mechanic based on my use of the C5 (Cruising). He said one benefit of this balancer is that it can be rebuilt. Hopefully, I will not have to do a rebuilt.

Also forgot to ask--should I pin it being it is a street car? Can that be done with the motor in the car? If so what kit is recommended?

I installed an ATI balancer, and used their pinning kit. Yes, it can be done with the engine in the car. I don't remember if you can slip the pinning jig on the crank snout with the front cover of the engine in place, however. I did one of those "while I'm in it this far" deals, and pulled the cover to install an LS2 timing chain, so I had the engine open, and plenty of room to slip the jig in place. If you happen to go that far, be sure to cover the open area of the oil pan, so no debris gets in the pan. I used tin foil, for that.
