Without more information a typical issue if it is an automatic is the cable that connects the shifter to the transmission has a bushing that failed. The bushing that most likely failed is the one on the shifter end.
You will need a Dorman Help! 14057 kit which will have the replacement bushing for the cable.
There are many threads on replacing this on the forum. Look at post 25 in this thread https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...oke-again.html
I was trying to get on so was vague. The car is a 5 speed manual transmission 2003 anniversary model. It has been through the recall and has been through the steering column lock issues a couple times. We last did the steering wheel permanent unlock. The car was starting after that butnow won't start, won't move. I am assuming the transmissions is locked. If I can just get it to roll, I can get it on a truck.

Can you put the trans into neutral? You should be able to put the car into any gear except reverse with it off. You should be able to push it in neutral, if it wont roll there are potentially bigger issues.
Since it is not starting, there are only a couple of items that can cause that.
1. bad clutch switch
2. bad theft deterrent relay
3. bad starter
4. bad VATS sensor in the ignition switch or dirt on the key contacts

Do you know who put the 5 speed trans in? Or the trans history? What brand is shifter and 5 speed trans? A 5 speed in a C5 is a bit unusual, as most go for the T56 or TR6060 6 speed. It could be your trans is stuck in 2 gears at the same time. This is something that Mickey Thompson actually invented. It's so effective for drag racing, he called it a trans brake. If your trans IS stuck in 2 different gears, the car will not move, similar to a locked up trans, because it is actually locked. You say it shifts into all 5 gears, but is the shifter actually moving gears around? You'll need more info to find the problem. What does the gear oil look like?
Are you sure it's a 5 speed, C5 Corvettes came with a six speed transmission, I will venture to guess that maybe your clutch is not disengaging, or your transmission is not really in neutral. If you need to take it to a shop, call a tow service with a truck that they load the entire car on to. Good luck
HUGE difference. But all the above still applies, like being in 2 gears at the same time. If your clutch is actually disengaging, and it still won't move, either it's in 2 gears at once, or you have some major trans damage.......
