Yeah, it's a big investment to do cam, should definitely do all the supporting mods as well, like mentioned.

But if you can afford to do both at the same time, that would be nice. It's gonna cost though, with most cams.

For example upgrading to the ls6 cam, you can run less spring, so theoretically will be cheaper, but then again, installing the ls6 cam is not worth it imo it's a dog down low just got good top end...invest in a nice combo, that will work with your planned mods...

UPDATE,
Well, the dealer said the HB isnt the source of the chirp but the ac belt so they replaced that and yup its gone but does come back from time to time. So the plan is to accrue some parts for a winter/spring build. Currently amassed 243 heads from a Z06 with BTR springs for .660 lift already installed. Valve covers, with coil packs and bracket. Picking up another 243 head to try porting and may do a home port job. Been looking for an LS6 intake/TB but damn is the the TB a pain to source so i am thinking of going the LS2 route with and adapter plate. Planning on headers/exhaust just haven't figured out what I want. Going to go with a 224/228 114 cam with a yank 2600 and a set of 3.42 if i can find a diff for a reasonable price. its taken every bit of energy not to pounce on the 3.15 diff in the market place. While I am in there I am replacing the oil pump, timing chain and lifters as well as the HB on the top end I think I am going to replace the valley cover with an LS6 and re work the pcv and remove the AIR system.

All of your mods sound real good. One of them does raise some questions I'd have, regarding the BTR .660" lift springs. How old are they? How many miles? What kind of use have they seen? I don't know the lift, or brand of your cam. BUT-Whoever the manufacturer is, I'd call them and ask them if these springs are what they'd recommend. I'm guessing your cam is around. 600" lift. If so, these may be too stiff for your application, and you may also have to much space between the coils at max lift. Again, the cam maker can clear things up. Also, I've read about, and also heard, not too many good things about the LS2 intake, fwiw. Good luck.....

I contacted the cam guys and they said the springs should be good with the cam, Springs have about 40 mins of run time on them from the dyno before a piston gave out. I did find an LS6 intake and TB as well so no more ls2 stuff. been debating if i want to go bigger with the cam or not but i dont think i will.
