Default ABS “pump” failure

My ABS pump caught on fire and fried my abs and traction control system. Supposedly this is a “common” thing with c5s. Does anyone have one for sale or any recommendations. I really need the part and can’t find it.

I have never seen this before. Looks like you going to need the harness also. You may want to try vettenuts.net or AES for some replacement parts

First I’ve heard of one catching fire, ever, so NO that’s not common.

Rare to see that early waterpump with the bolted on bell housing.

being your car is a 97-98 be prepared to spend $3000+ by the time you replace the harness and EBTCM and pump.

If it were mine, I would seriously consider bypassing it forever - and living without it.

And if you do it yourself be careful if you plug it back in and it shorts again on you because there might be something else going on. JMO you might want to find a good troubling shooting shop if you find the parts. Just like like JOSH said going to have to go deep in your pockets for this one.

Wow, yes the EBCM does fail in the C5s regardless of year but in the 20 years of my C5 knowledge I've NEVER seen one short out and catch fire.
Someone implied your car is a 97-98 but I'm not thinking that because of it's location. Early models had the EBCM in the rear of the car and yours's is like my 02's. Regardless, it cannot be fixed and will have to be replaced. Take in mind there are several models of the EBCMs. The older models are generally more expensive as they cannot be repaired.
Here is a quick search on eBay. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...bm+corvette+c5 You'll probably have to hit up a used parts dealer like Vettenuts.com for the harness.
Best wishes
